PR WEEK 2008 - Dragan Savic20. 10. 2008.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Our lives, our society and the planet itself have been changing rapidly and unpredictably. Financial crisis hit the world, affecting us all, and analytics claim that it is just the tip of the iceberg. If we want to find a way to a better world, we need leaders who think and behave in different ways, can see beyond tomorrow, inspire and lead others towards the transformation process.
Experience is perhaps best teacher of a leader. However, two people can have the identical experiences, yet one will make progress, the other one will not. It is not experience itself that shapes you, but what you make out of it, especially out of the most traumatic and crucial ones. What and how you learn, makes you a good leader. Many life experiences, self-evaluation and exercises can help you become more efficient leader and learn how to use your experience. The key point in leading is giving personal example. Under stressful circumstances, it is of great importance that the leader actually puts his words into action. Leader has to represent the personification of company's goals and values; otherwise, these values will become insignificant for the others. Developing dedication entails leader showing his personal integrity, supporting his employees and taking over the responsibility for his actions, even for mistakes. PR Week Belgrade, which takes place for the third year in a row, is dedicated to NEW LEADERSHIP. Challenges that the leaders face at the beginning of the new millennium will be the main topic of 22 lecturers, who are experts in this field. They will, as well, give an answer to a following question: “What makes difference between great leaders and great teams, and the rest of them?” Welcome! |
